Prettige Kerstdagen

It is almost Christmas. Everyone here is busy, preparing for Christmas. Making plans, shopping for presents. With us it's the same. And more: Our niece is visiting the Netherlands and will stay at our place for a week. I am excited and so looking forward to it! Haven't seen her in 3 years!
And now a card made in Cricut Craft Room, with a snowflake background stamp by Hero Arts.

Recently I found some fun dutch sentiments. "Prettige Kerstdagen" will say "Merry Christmas".
Finally I can't resist to show you a photo made in our nearby little forest "Loetbos".

I really loved the sphere. A little mystic... Hope you see what I mean :)
Thats it for now.
Happy weekend!

Joy to the World

Recently I found this paper by Fancy Pants, "Snow Village".
It has lovely paterns and some sweet tags.
The poinsettia is a stamp by "Clearly Besotted". Great to work with!

Stamped the poinsettia once on vellum and once on music paper and glued it onto each other, with the music tag behind it. Love the title is going wonderful with the houses on the paper!

Christmas Cards

Finally I started making my Christmas cards. Two weeks ago I found some wonderful inspiration on Hero Arts blog. During that week they worked together with "Silhouette", a brand of cutting machines. It was all about die cutting some elements and add stamping on one card. Now, I am not an owner of a Silhouette, but I have a "Cricut" cutting machine, and why not give it a try?!
First I admired a card of the talented Lisa Spangler.
I always love her style of cardmaking!
You can find it here:
http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2013/11/06/sending-love/
I made a similar card, using a free image in Cricut Craft Room. Than added some pattern paper behind it. Paper with the name: "Aspen Frost", by Basic Grey. And than added stickles and sequins for some shine.

The second card I liked very much was a card made by Lucy wich can be found here:
http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2013/11/05/winter-trees/
I really love the shine she achieved on the trees and the shape of the trees
is adorable. They made me think of the trees on the "Don Juan" cartridge wich went with my Cricut machine when I bought it years ago. So, I started and here is the finished result. I am satisfied with it. Lucy told us how to receive the shiny layer on the trees and I can say: The shine just turned out as Lucy told us!

I feel thankfull for all the inspiration wich comes from Hero Arts blog. Thank you so much Lisa and Lucy!
This "project" was so much fun.
Thank you, everyone who is visiting!
Hope you enjoyed your visit.

Autumn Vacation

Last week we had Autumn vacation here in the Netherlands. That means a week off, a visit of the forrest in the middle of the country, and a pancake afterwards. Thats a tradition in our family, and I think in more family's.
I like to share some lovely things we saw around "Het Doornse Gat", a beautiful area for a long walk.

And finally I like to share a card I made especially for a challenge at "Die Cut Diva's." Arlene invited me already several times to insert one of my cards to their challenge, so I thought now was the time to make a card just only for their challenge of this month: "Animal and Autumn".

Honorable mention

Again I got an Honorable mention at CAS-ology Blog. I am very very happy with it! The challenge was to make a card with a pumpkin on it.
Here is my card.

The items on this card are cut with my Cricut machine. I always love to play with it! Gave it a little bit of shading with Copic markers. And the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Crisp

Last week I came to know that this weeks challenge at CAS-ology blog is to make a card with the word "Crisp" in your thoughts.
At first I only could think of fresh and cool air, just as you can feel in Autumn.
But than I got the idea of asking my family. My daughter thought of snow, and my son thought of crispy chips :)
Finally I went to a dictionary, because I am dutch, and wanted to get a good understanding of the word "Crisp" ! And there I got a whole new understanding of this word! First the dutch word and than the word again in english, wich is so much fun!
Crisp can be:
1. Kroes=woolly, fuzzy ,curlly, mug, cub.
    Gerimpeld=wrinkly, crinkly, rippling, ruffling
2. Bros,Knapperig=crisp, brittle(glas) friable(steen)
3. Knerpend, knisterend= snow, crunch, creack
4. Fris,opwekkend= fresh, cool,air, exiting, stimulating
5. Scherp=sharp- knife,features,tongue,photo,outline
6. Energiek,levendig,krachtig,pittig=
    energetic,dynamic,lively,vivid,strong,crisp.

So, you can say, I learned a lot! And when you read this, you got a lesson too! Once a teacher, always a teacher :)
And now my card!

I stayed with my first impression: cool, fresh air,a clear sky with a bright moon.
The design is not my own. I saw such before on internet.Tthe stamps I used are all Hero Arts.
You can read more about the challenge here:

Hope you liked it!

Fall colors

How I love fall colors! The shades of green, yellow and orange are THE best for my eyes! And than the light. It is different, warmer definately!
In our garden we have a tree with red berries. Beautiful! And birds love to eat these berries. They get "drunk" of it, my husband sayed :)

Because I love all whats autumn, I also love the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays: CFC115 "Fall colors & a leaf".
And with the birds and the berries in my mind I made this card.

Hope you like it!

You're in my thoughts

Today a card with a bit of a grey sky, as we see today. I don't use grey so often, but this card proves it can work. And it even isn't that sombre. The red and craft gives it just that little bit of fressness wich makes it fun to see.

I really love this sailing boat! I used it already more often, and it makes me happy, every time I make a card with it.
It is cut out with my Cricut machine with the "Life is a Beach" cartridge.
The clouds are stamped with a Hero Arts Stamp and so are the stripes on the waves and the sentiment.

Honoring Ombre

Today a fun card for the Moxie Fab World Challenge: "Honoring Ombre".
Here is the inspirational photo.

And here is the card I made after seeing the photo above.
I really loved the colors. And besides that: I had to think of birthdays. Now, we are in birthday celebrations these days, because my son and my daughter and my husband are celebrating their birthdays all in two weeks!
That means a whole lot of birthday cakes :)

Hope you like my card and see the connection between the inspirational photo and this card. All stamps are Hero Arts: the birthday hats, the butterfly and the Happy Birthday wish.

Just for fun

Today I like to show a birthday card I made just for fun.
It is always good to have some birthday cards on hand!
Looking around on blogs I was inspired to make a card with three flowers. Don't ask me were I saw it, but I liked the idea and gave it my own twist.

The flowers are cut with my Cricut. Used the "A Mothers Day Bouquet" cartridge. The heart of the middle flower is a stamped spool sentiment by Maya Road. The heart of the flower on the right is a stamped button from a little stampset by Hero Arts "Sew Original" CL397. The stamped button on the left is from a SSS stamp set. In the background a stamp by Hero Arts "Old Letter" CG197.The butterfy is a Martha Steward punch. And the Happy birthday wish is also from a stampset by Hero Arts CL139.
Paper is from My Mind's Eye.
Hope you like it!

Triangles

Last week I was playing with the Hero Arts/Studio Callico stampset: "Hooray".
This stampset has some fun banners, to make festive cards. But the banners can also be used in another way. That you can see here.

Than I tried a more graffic card. But I am not good in such cards so I was struggling to get it to a good result. And than I read an article in a magazine about combining different styles. Thats what I can do, I thought, so I added a flower and a butterfly. And thats what you can see here.

Hope to be back later this week to show two other cards with triangles.
I will insert these cards in a Challenge at Moxie Fab World: The Trendy Triangles Challenge.
You can read all about it here:

Buttons

I saw that this weeks Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a card with buttons. You can read all about it here:
http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.nl/
And than I got this idea, to make a jar with buttons. I had to think of that box with old buttons I have, and I mean very old. My children played with it when they were much younger.

Now, these blue buttons are not that old! They are from V&D, a dutch store. And the orange button is Hero Arts from some years ago. It has the same look as the blue ones.
The jar is a stamp by Hero Arts and the sentiment is from a stampset by Simon Says Stamp.
My favorite color is orange, thats why :)
Thank you for visiting my blog.

Italy

At first I like to say something about my new bloghead.
For ages I had want to put those flowers at the top of my blog, because I think it expresses the name of my blog very well.
The flowers of the Bougainvillea look like blotting paper to me! Am I right?
And I really love the look of blotting paper AND I love Bougainvillea!
So , thats why!

Last weekend we came back from our summer vacation in Italy. We had a wonderful time and I want to share some things with you!
At first I show you where we were, a little lake in northern Italy, with the name : "Lago di Ledro".

We rented an appartment at Pieve di Ledro.
I can't tell you how blue the water is.

A great lake to sail at and to swim in!
When we there I thought it would be fun to share some photo's wich could be inspirational for crafting/cardmaking.
So, here is the first one.

I loved the vintage painting on the wall!
And here is another one.

I loved this chandelier made of glass.
And than there is something I found in the streets of Pieve di Ledro.

I think this is made by local people, and ins't it fun!
Be sure to be back later this week, because I want to show you more!

And finally I like to share with you the card I made as a thank you card for the owners of the appartement we rented, because they were so friendly to us!
It has everything on it what we did and liked overthere, such as flip flops we used and saw everywhere, the museum we visited, and not to forget the walk in the mountains.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed your visit.

Painted flower

Today I want to show you a "Painted Flower" birthday card.

It is made for a birthday of someone special in my family. The sunny orange is my favorite, but it is also good, I think, for the destination of it: California!
Although this is't a Poppy, precisely, it does me think of all the orange Poppy's, I saw in bloom when I once was there!
This flower is a stamp by Hero Arts and so is the backgroundstamp!

Stamp your Story

Today I want to share something I made with some new stamps by Hero Arts.
This new line of stamps is called : "Stamp your story". They are perfect for making scrapbookpages and for cardmaking, but in a new and artsy style.

These two little pages showe off what is important for me.

Today is a sunny day and we enjoy it in our own little garden.

What also is important for me is how we can be encouraged by some friendly words!
I found this frase of Mother Theresa is a book and printed them and build this page around it.

Now, this is my first try out with the fun journaling stamps of the "Stamp your Story" stampsets, and I am going to enter it in the Hero Arts Challenge with the same name.
