Textural effects

Today I like to show some cards I made for the Online Card Classes. I think this will be my last submission for the Online Card Classes. It is not that I am "ready", but submissions close very soon. There's so much I want to try. The classes were so helpfull. I learned a lot and got so much idea's! A big "Thank You" for the teachers!

The idea for this card is from Debby Hughes. I am an admirer of what she makes! The butterflies are embossed with White embossing powder, Brass embossing powder and Silver embossing powder. The leaves on the left card are made using a Mask by Donna Downey Studios, sponged with colorbox. The leaves on the middle card are stamped with a stamp by Hero Arts. On the right card you see a pattern made with gesso and a Mask by "Dutch Doobadoo".
Thanks for visiting!

Scenic Stamping

I like to share a card with you I recently made for the Online Card Classes. We had to make a card with a scene on it. For making a scene you have to ground your stamps and connect them in a way. So, here is what I tried.

I used stamps by Imaginisce (tree) and Nellie Snellen (boy and fence) After stamping the images I colored them with Distress Inks. Fun to do and easy too. Maybe I have to practise more on the coloring :)

Thanks for visiting!

Masking again

For this card I made for the Online Card Classes, Clean and Simple 3, I used note-it paper strips. Glued them on a card base with a spare line in between, and sponged these stripes with Color Box Ink. Moved the strips around to create a plaid pattern.

I can tell it looks very easy, and it is, but you have to work very carefully. I managed to get an ugly ink spot, wich I didn't like. Thats why I dived in my supplies to find my spellbinder dies and cut this shape with my cuttlebug. So, doing this there was no need to trow it away. It turned out fun anyway.
But, I started again and finally succeeded to create another card using the same technique. You can see this card here.

This time I am more satified, and I will post it in the Student Gallery!
Thanks for visiting! Thats much appreciated!

Faux Letterpress

Love to show you today some cards I made for the Online Card Classes, Clean and Simple 3. The technique used on these cards is called "Faux Letterpress". To reach this result it is important to stamp your images and sentiment first with White ink, and than stamp it again using colored inks, but a little bit off centered. So, doing this you can see a little of the white ink, wich gives some dept to the stamped images. It's a fun technique. See my results here.

Hope you had a fun visit!

Masking Technique

Using the masking technique is so much fun! I saw some wonderful examples of using the masking tecnique on your cards by Jennifer. She is one of the teachers of the Online Card Classes. When I saw her video, I loved to try it myself. I went through my stamps and dies, picked some and started. Here is the result.

Used Colorbox Inks and a Simon Says Stamp stampset: SSS130301. On my flickr stream is another card in more orange colors. The shapes are from Spelbinder dies, wich I used to cut the masking paper.
I can reccomand this technique!

Watercolor

In the past I "met" Virginia in the world of cardmaking people and later on I was able to meet her in real life in Amsterdam. I came to know that she is a very lovely lady and I am very happy with her friendship and I love to read her blog. Recently she decided to have her own Challenge in the spirit of the Tuesday Trigger as they used to have at Moxie Fab World in the past. It feels a little different , it is her challenge and totally new! But I can assure you that this feels good and fun and challenging as well. I really love the inspirational photo's she is providing on her blog. They were so inviting that I started right away with "Watercoloring" as she suggested to do on your card.

You can find it here:  http://virginiasviewchallenge.blogspot.nl/

This is my first result. I used Distress Inks and water and watercolor paper, and a stamp by Hero Arts: "Wildflower Garden" CG170.

It is a very simple result, but rewarding and fun! Used a Hero Arts layering paper, folded in half to get a big card. And some ribbon and a little buckle finished it off.
